Since completing her AIDAB Scholarship, Siti (whom like to be called Wiwiek) has been active as a researcher and writer, with more than 100 books, journals and articles to her credit.. In 2007 Wiwiek travelled to the USA to present two papers, the first titled ‘Three Border Regions (Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines): Indonesia’s Perspectives’ at the US Pacific Command in Hawaii and the second ‘The Importance of the Habibie’s Regional Autonomy Policy for Indonesia: Reflections on the Habibie Era’ at the Johns Hopkins University in Washington DC.

Today Wiwiek is a Research Manager at the Habibie Center and lectures for postgraduate students at the Muhammadiyah University in Jakarta.



The benefit of an Australian Government Scholarship


Having had the benefit of both a Masters and PhD scholarship provided by the Australian Government, Siti summaries the time in Australia as a “great learning experience”, describing the education system in Australia as independent, rational and focused. Siti concludes by stating that in everything she does in Indonesia, she adopts the concepts acquired from her educational experience in Australia.
